Mudiaga Akakabota is a dual-qualified lawyer and public policy professional with expertise spanning law, economics, policy analysis, and public administration. He is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Nigerian Bar Association, bringing a comparative, cross-jurisdictional perspective shaped by academic and professional experience in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Canada. His work bridges the public and private sectors, focusing on legal advisory, policy development, governance, transaction advisory, program administration, and regulatory compliance.

Mudiaga holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Trade and Commercial Law (with Distinction) from Durham University, UK, and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Northampton. He also earned a B.Sc. in Economics and a Master’s degree in Energy and Petroleum Economics from Delta State University. Additionally, he holds a Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and a Certificate in Legal Research and Writing from the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education. He is currently a Master of Public Administration (MPA) candidate at the University of Saskatchewan.

Mudiaga applies policy analysis and economic insight to develop frameworks that strengthen governance, improve institutional performance, and advance labour mobility initiatives.
